The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when exports increased by 515% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Qatar (X tons) was the main destination for non-cellular polyethylene film exports from Kuwait, accounting for a 78% share of total exports. Moreover, non-cellular polyethylene film exports to Qatar exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Iraq (X tons), fivefold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Bahrain (X tons), with a 3% share.

Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

In value terms, non-cellular polyethylene film imports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, imports recorded a strong increase. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
