The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 180% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2020, and then contracted remarkably in the following year.
In value terms, non-reinforced rubber tubing imports fell rapidly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a slight expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when imports increased by 218%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2020, and then fell dramatically in the following year.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Bahrain (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of non-reinforced rubber tubing to Kuwait, with a 76% share of total imports. Moreover, non-reinforced rubber tubing imports from Bahrain exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the United Arab Emirates (X tons), ninefold. China (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 2.7% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Bahrain amounted to +166.9%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the United Arab Emirates (-18.9% per year) and China (+2.5% per year).
In value terms, Bahrain ($X) constituted the largest supplier of rubber tubing not reinforced to Kuwait, comprising 90% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Japan ($X), with a 2.4% share of total imports. It was followed by the United Arab Emirates, with a 1.2% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value from Bahrain totaled +157.9%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Japan (+11.8% per year) and the United Arab Emirates (-25.8% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The average non-reinforced rubber tubing import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, approximately reflecting the previous year. In general, import price indicated a buoyant expansion from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +7.8% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period.
