As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons, and then reduced sharply in the following year.

Lebanon (X tons) was the main destination for safes and strongboxes exports from Kuwait, with a 62% share of total exports. Moreover, safes and strongboxes exports to Lebanon exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Italy (X kg), fivefold. The third position in this ranking was held by Saudi Arabia (X kg), with an 8.4% share.

In general, imports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 19%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2015; afterwards, it flattened through to 2021.

In value terms, safes and strongboxes imports surged to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +4.7% from 2012 to 2021; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 40%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

In 2021, China (X tons) constituted the largest safes and strongboxes supplier to Kuwait, accounting for a 54% share of total imports.
