Exports from Kuwait

In 2022, exports of safety glass from Kuwait soared to X square meters, picking up by 42% against the year before. Over the period under review, exports posted a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when exports increased by 941%. The exports peaked at X square meters in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, safety glass exports soared to $X in 2022. Overall, exports continue to indicate a buoyant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 528% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Saudi Arabia (X square meters) was the main destination for safety glass exports from Kuwait, accounting for a 85% share of total exports. Moreover, safety glass exports to Saudi Arabia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Qatar (X square meters), threefold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Oman (X square meters), with an 8.7% share.

Safety glass imports into Kuwait fell dramatically to X square meters in 2022, dropping by -35.9% compared with the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a noticeable expansion from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +18.8% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 85%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X square meters, and then dropped markedly in the following year.

In value terms, safety glass imports shrank dramatically to $X in 2022. In general, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 35%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2021, China (X square meters) constituted the largest supplier of safety glass to Kuwait, accounting for a 44% share of total imports. Moreover, safety glass imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the United Arab Emirates (X square meters), fivefold.
