The Kuwaiti copper sanitary ware market surged to $X in 2021, rising by 22% against the previous year. This figure reflects the total revenues of producers and importers (excluding logistics costs, retail marketing costs, and retailers' margins, which will be included in the final consumer price). The exports peaked at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, copper sanitary ware exports contracted significantly to $X in 2021. In general, exports showed a deep setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of 97%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

India (X tons) was the main destination for copper sanitary ware exports from Kuwait, accounting for a 76% share of total exports. Moreover, copper sanitary ware exports to India exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Qatar (X kg), sevenfold. Bahrain (X kg) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 9.3% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume to India amounted to +3.4%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Qatar (-16.0% per year) and Bahrain (+5.9% per year).

In value terms, India ($X), Bahrain ($X) and Qatar ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for copper sanitary ware exported from Kuwait worldwide, together comprising 91% of total exports.

In terms of the main countries of destination, Bahrain, with a CAGR of +16.3%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced a decline.

The average copper sanitary ware export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, dropping by -8% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a mild expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average export price increased by 70% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2019 to 2021, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Bahrain ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to India ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Bahrain (+9.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the amount of sanitary ware and parts of copper imported into Kuwait fell slightly to X tons, waning by -3.2% on the previous year. Over the period under review, imports recorded a pronounced setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 39% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2021, India (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of copper sanitary ware to Kuwait, accounting for a 44% share of total imports. Moreover, copper sanitary ware imports from India exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, China (X tons), threefold. The United Arab Emirates (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with an 11% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from India amounted to -6.3%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: China (-5.7% per year) and the United Arab Emirates (+6.5% per year).

In value terms, India ($X) constituted the largest supplier of sanitary ware and parts of copper to Kuwait, comprising 27% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by China ($X), with a 10% share of total imports. It was followed by Germany, with a 9% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value from India stood at -5.7%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: China (-4.2% per year) and Germany (+8.2% per year).

Import Prices by Country

In 2021, the average copper sanitary ware import price amounted to $X per ton, jumping by 32% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import price indicated a pronounced expansion from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.3% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, copper sanitary ware import price increased by +84.7% against 2016 indices. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while the price for Syrian Arab Republic ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
