The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 39%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2021, and then fell in the following year.
In value terms, preserved sardines imports shrank modestly to $X in 2022. Overall, imports continue to indicate a noticeable slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 48% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Morocco (X tons), the Philippines (X tons) and Indonesia (X tons) were the main suppliers of preserved sardines imports to Kuwait, with a combined 84% share of total imports. Thailand, China, France and Oman lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 15%.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by France (with a CAGR of +61.6%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
