The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 263% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Lebanon (X tons) was the main destination for sheepskin and lambskin exports from Kuwait, with a 46% share of total exports. Moreover, sheepskin and lambskin exports to Lebanon exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Saudi Arabia (X tons), threefold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Turkey (X tons), with a 13% share.

Imports peaked at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, sheepskin and lambskin imports amounted to $X in 2021. Overall, imports continue to indicate a significant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 2,078%. Imports peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, India (X tons) was the main sheepskin and lambskin supplier to Kuwait, with a 91% share of total imports. Moreover, sheepskin and lambskin imports from India exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the UK (X kg), more than tenfold.
