Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, aluminium pipe fittings exports soared to $X in 2021. In general, exports, however, recorded a drastic downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 17% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, Mexico (X tons) was the main exporter of aluminium tube or pipe fittings, mixing up 56% of total exports. Paraguay (X tons) held the second position in the ranking, followed by Brazil (X tons) and Colombia (X tons). All these countries together held approx. 38% share of total exports. Argentina (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to aluminium pipe fittings exports from Mexico stood at -8.6%. At the same time, Paraguay (+68.8%) and Colombia (+15.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. In value terms, Mexico ($X) remains the largest aluminium pipe fittings supplier in Latin America and the Caribbean, comprising 71% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Brazil ($X), with a 15% share of total exports. It was followed by Paraguay, with a 5.9% share.

In Mexico, aluminium pipe fittings exports declined by an average annual rate of -4.1% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Brazil (-3.0% per year) and Paraguay (+71.8% per year).

The export price in Latin America and the Caribbean stood at $X per ton in 2021, rising by 6.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 16%. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the maximum at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Total imports indicated a notable increase from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.1% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, aluminium pipe fittings imports surged to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The level of import peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

Mexico prevails in imports structure, amounting to X tons, which was near 69% of total imports in 2021. Brazil (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 7.2% share, followed by Argentina (4.7%). At the same time, Peru (+6.9%), Guatemala (+6.7%), Argentina (+6.6%), Chile (+2.8%) and Brazil (+1.9%) displayed positive paces of growth.
