The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when exports increased by 22%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
In value terms, amino resin exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Total exports indicated buoyant growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +91.5% against 2019 indices. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Colombia (X tons) and Brazil (X tons) were the major exporters of amino resins in 2022, resulting at near 40% and 27% of total exports, respectively. Chile (X tons) held a 12% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Mexico (9.9%) and Peru (8.5%).

Peru, with a CAGR of +27.2%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price in Latin America and the Caribbean stood at $X per ton in 2022, with an increase of 5.9% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +3.1%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 29%. The level of export peaked in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in years to come.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Mexico ($X per ton), while Chile ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Colombia (+4.0%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in Latin America and the Caribbean
In 2022, approx. X tons of amino resins were imported in Latin America and the Caribbean; jumping by 19% on the year before. Overall, imports continue to indicate buoyant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 28% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, amino resin imports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. In general, imports saw a buoyant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 63% against the previous year. The level of import peaked in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in years to come.

Brazil represented the key importer of amino resins in Latin America and the Caribbean, with the volume of imports recording X tons, which was approx. 44% of total imports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Mexico (X tons), Colombia (X tons) and Argentina (X tons), together constituting a 46% share of total imports. Chile (X tons), Peru (X tons) and Ecuador (X tons) held a little share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to amino resin imports into Brazil stood at +9.1%. At the same time, Ecuador (+27.9%), Mexico (+22.7%), Chile (+16.0%), Argentina (+7.7%) and Colombia (+5.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Ecuador emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Latin America and the Caribbean, with a CAGR of +27.9% from 2012-2022. Peru experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. Mexico (+15 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Argentina, Peru and Colombia saw its share reduced by -1.5%, -2.9% and -7.6% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Brazil ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported amino resins in Latin America and the Caribbean, comprising 44% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Mexico ($X), with an 18% share of total imports. It was followed by Colombia, with a 15% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Brazil stood at +11.4%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Mexico (+18.5% per year) and Colombia (+7.1% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Latin America and the Caribbean stood at $X per ton in 2022, surging by 6.7% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.2%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when the import price increased by 27%. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in years to come.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Peru ($X per ton), while Mexico ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
