Exports in Latin America and the Caribbean
In 2022, shipments abroad of amplifiers increased by 16% to X units, rising for the sixth consecutive year after two years of decline. Overall, exports showed a remarkable increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 64%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.
In value terms, amplifier exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Total exports indicated a strong expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +8.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +22.0% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when exports increased by 24% against the previous year. The level of export peaked in 2022 and is likely to see gradual growth in the near future.
Exports by Country
Mexico prevails in exports structure, recording X units, which was approx. 96% of total exports in 2022. Brazil (X units) held a little share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to amplifier exports from Mexico stood at +4.7%. At the same time, Brazil (+26.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Brazil emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Latin America and the Caribbean, with a CAGR of +26.1% from 2012-2022. Brazil (+3.2 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Mexico saw its share reduced by -3.3% from 2012 to 2022, respectively.
In value terms, Mexico ($X) remains the largest amplifier supplier in Latin America and the Caribbean, comprising 91% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Brazil ($X), with a 4.8% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Mexico totaled +8.0%.
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the export price in Latin America and the Caribbean amounted to $X per unit, approximately mirroring the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a noticeable expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 an increase of 197%. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Brazil ($X per unit), while Mexico amounted to $X per unit.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Mexico (+3.2%).
Amplifier Imports
Imports in Latin America and the Caribbean
In 2022, the amount of amplifiers imported in Latin America and the Caribbean shrank to X units, declining by -10.7% against 2021 figures. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a perceptible decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 76% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, amplifier imports expanded sharply to $X in 2022. In general, imports continue to indicate a pronounced reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 22%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
Mexico represented the largest importer of amplifiers in Latin America and the Caribbean, with the volume of imports recording X units, which was near 47% of total imports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Chile (X units), Colombia (X units) and Brazil (X units), together committing a 30% share of total imports. Argentina (X units), Peru (X units), the Dominican Republic (X units), Guatemala (X units), Bolivia (X units) and Ecuador (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to amplifier imports into Mexico stood at -5.0%. At the same time, the Dominican Republic (+11.0%), Guatemala (+10.0%), Chile (+8.1%), Colombia (+6.9%), Ecuador (+3.4%) and Argentina (+1.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, the Dominican Republic emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Latin America and the Caribbean, with a CAGR of +11.0% from 2012-2022. Peru experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Bolivia (-1.5%) and Brazil (-10.7%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Chile (+8.6 p.p.), Colombia (+7.4 p.p.), the Dominican Republic (+2.3 p.p.), Guatemala (+2 p.p.) and Argentina (+1.7 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2022, the share of Mexico (-3.4 p.p.) and Brazil (-6.4 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Mexico ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported amplifiers in Latin America and the Caribbean, comprising 50% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Brazil ($X), with a 12% share of total imports. It was followed by Chile, with a 9.9% share.
In Mexico, amplifier imports decreased by an average annual rate of -2.8% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Brazil (-0.9% per year) and Chile (+4.8% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the import price in Latin America and the Caribbean amounted to $X per unit, growing by 19% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price showed modest growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when the import price increased by 98% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2016 to 2022, the import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Brazil ($X per unit), while Bolivia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
