In value terms, Argentina ($X) remains the largest blood-grouping reagents supplier in Latin America and the Caribbean, comprising 44% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Chile ($X), with a 22% share of total exports. It was followed by Colombia, with a 5.1% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Argentina stood at -3.0%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Chile (-0.5% per year) and Colombia (+27.0% per year).

The export price in Latin America and the Caribbean stood at $X per ton in 2022, shrinking by -7.4% against the previous year. In general, the export price recorded a abrupt decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the export price increased by 25% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the largest blood-grouping reagents importing markets in Latin America and the Caribbean were Colombia ($X), Chile ($X) and Brazil ($X), together accounting for 38% of total imports.

Among the main importing countries, Chile, with a CAGR of +14.1%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
