In 2022, Chile (X units), distantly followed by Mexico (X units), Brazil (X units), Colombia (X units) and Argentina (X units) represented the key exporters of blow-moulding machines for working rubber or plastics, together committing 83% of total exports. Costa Rica (X units), Guatemala (X units), Ecuador (X units), Paraguay (X units) and Peru (X units) held a minor share of total exports.

Guatemala, with a CAGR of +39.6%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Latin America and the Caribbean stood at $X per unit in 2022, falling by -46.4% against the previous year. Overall, the export price recorded a noticeable curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 an increase of 50% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2021, and then fell significantly in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Ecuador ($X per unit), while Chile ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Guatemala (+39.6%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, imports of blow-moulding machines for working rubber or plastics in Latin America and the Caribbean soared to X units, jumping by 58% against the previous year's figure. Overall, imports recorded perceptible growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 59% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.

Moreover, Suriname emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Latin America and the Caribbean, with a CAGR of +29.2% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Brazil (-4.9%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Mexico (+15 p.p.), Peru (+2.9 p.p.), Suriname (+2.4 p.p.) and Guatemala (+1.8 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Brazil saw its share reduced by -2.5% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Mexico ($X), Brazil ($X) and Colombia ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, with a combined 46% share of total imports. Guatemala, Peru and Suriname lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 16%.
In terms of the main importing countries, Suriname, with a CAGR of +26.3%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the import price in Latin America and the Caribbean amounted to $X per unit, declining by -39.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price saw a abrupt setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when the import price increased by 59%. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Brazil ($X per unit), while Mexico ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
