In value terms, brassiere, girdle and corset exports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a noticeable reduction. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
Honduras (X tons), El Salvador (X tons) and Colombia (X tons) represented roughly 79% of total exports in 2021. Mexico (X tons) ranks next in terms of the total exports with a 5.3% share, followed by the Dominican Republic (5.1%). Nicaragua (X tons) and Brazil (X tons) took a little share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the leading exporting countries, was attained by Brazil (with a CAGR of +8.2%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Honduras ($X), Colombia ($X) and El Salvador ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021, together comprising 75% of total exports. Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua and Brazil lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 22%.
In terms of the main exporting countries, Mexico, with a CAGR of +6.2%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the export price in Latin America and the Caribbean amounted to $X per ton, standing approx. at the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the export price increased by 7% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2020, and then dropped modestly in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Mexico ($X per ton), while El Salvador ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Imports in Latin America and the Caribbean
In 2021, brassiere, girdle and corset imports in Latin America and the Caribbean skyrocketed to X tons, rising by 60% compared with the previous year. In general, imports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2019 to 2021, the import prices remained at a lower figure.
