In value terms, Brazil ($X) remains the largest butene and isomers thereof supplier in Latin America and the Caribbean, comprising 80% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Argentina ($X), with a 19% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Brazil was relatively modest.

In general, imports continue to indicate a abrupt setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 7.9% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, butene and isomers thereof imports dropped rapidly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports faced a deep slump. In value terms, Venezuela ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported butene (butylene) and isomers thereof in Latin America and the Caribbean, comprising 49% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Argentina ($X), with a 20% share of total imports. It was followed by Mexico, with a 20% share.

In Venezuela, butene and isomers thereof imports contracted by an average annual rate of -2.7% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Argentina (+43.3% per year) and Mexico (-25.6% per year).
