The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +78.2% against 2015 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 14% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, metal castor mounting exports rose rapidly to $X in 2022. Total exports indicated a prominent expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +41.8% against 2020 indices. The export price in Latin America and the Caribbean stood at $X per ton in 2022, which is down by -3.8% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when the export price increased by 16%. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Brazil ($X per ton), while Panama ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Brazil (+3.9%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

Imports in Latin America and the Caribbean

In 2022, the amount of castors with mountings of base metal imported in Latin America and the Caribbean declined to X tons, which is down by -9.3% on the year before. In general, imports, however, saw a strong increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 69% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons, and then contracted in the following year.

In value terms, metal castor mounting imports reached $X in 2022. Total imports indicated a strong expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.7% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +54.7% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 54%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to metal castor mounting imports into Mexico stood at +8.3%. The second position in the ranking was taken by Brazil ($X), with a 13% share of total imports. It was followed by Argentina, with a 9.8% share.
