From 2014 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Argentina ($X per unit), while Brazil stood at $X per unit.

For the third year in a row, LatAmerica and the Caribbean recorded decline in purchases abroad of centrifugal clothes-dryers, which decreased by -4% to X units in 2021. In general, imports recorded a abrupt curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 15%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X units in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, Paraguay (X units) represented the largest importer of centrifugal clothes-dryers, committing 32% of total imports. Mexico (+10 p.p.), Paraguay (+6.7 p.p.), Chile (+5.9 p.p.), Guatemala (+5.2 p.p.), the Dominican Republic (+4.7 p.p.), Barbados (+2.8 p.p.), Guyana (+2.5 p.p.), Peru (+2.4 p.p.), Cayman Islands (+2 p.p.) and Costa Rica (+1.6 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Belize saw its share reduced by -2% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Paraguay ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported centrifugal clothes-dryers in Latin America and the Caribbean, comprising 33% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Mexico ($X), with a 13% share of total imports. It was followed by Chile, with an 8.5% share.

In Paraguay, centrifugal clothes-dryer imports declined by an average annual rate of -6.6% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Mexico (+16.0% per year) and Chile (+9.6% per year).

Import Prices by Country

The import price in Latin America and the Caribbean stood at $X per unit in 2021, stabilizing at the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 11%. There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Trinidad and Tobago ($X per unit), while Belize ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
