In value terms, ceramic statuette exports amounted to $X in 2021. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +3.2% over the period from 2012 to 2021; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when exports increased by 21% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. Mexico represented the largest exporting country with an export of about X tons, which accounted for 80% of total exports. It was distantly followed by the Dominican Republic (X tons), generating a 10% share of total exports. The following exporters - Honduras (X tons) and Peru (X tons) - each accounted for a 4.4% share of total exports.
Mexico experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of exports of ceramic statuettes and other ornamental articles. At the same time, Honduras (+26.0%) and the Dominican Republic (+14.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Honduras emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Latin America and the Caribbean, with a CAGR of +26.0% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Peru (-3.6%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of the Dominican Republic (+6.9 p.p.) and Honduras (+2.1 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2021, the share of Mexico (-2.7 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Mexico ($X) remains the largest ceramic statuette supplier in Latin America and the Caribbean, comprising 62% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the Dominican Republic ($X), with a 26% share of total exports. It was followed by Peru, with a 6.3% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Mexico stood at +2.2%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the Dominican Republic (+15.6% per year) and Peru (+0.3% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Latin America and the Caribbean stood at $X per ton in 2021, flattening at the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.1%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 14% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the peak figure in 2021 and is likely to see steady growth in years to come.
Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Peru ($X per ton), while Honduras ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Peru (+4.1%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in Latin America and the Caribbean
In 2021, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in purchases abroad of ceramic statuettes and other ornamental articles, when their volume increased by 26% to X tons. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.1% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 30%. The volume of import peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
In value terms, ceramic statuette imports surged to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +2.3% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Brazil (X tons) was the largest importer of ceramic statuettes and other ornamental articles, mixing up 37% of total imports. Chile (X tons) held a 13% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Mexico (9.6%), Colombia (7.8%) and Argentina (6.7%). Peru (X tons), the Dominican Republic (X tons), Costa Rica (X tons), Bolivia (X tons), Honduras (X tons), Panama (X tons), Ecuador (X tons) and Guatemala (X tons) took a minor share of total imports.
Imports into Brazil increased at an average annual rate of +4.8% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Honduras (+13.3%), Peru (+8.8%), Chile (+7.6%), Colombia (+7.6%), Guatemala (+5.3%), Bolivia (+3.9%), Argentina (+3.6%), Costa Rica (+2.1%) and the Dominican Republic (+1.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Honduras emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Latin America and the Caribbean, with a CAGR of +13.3% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Mexico (-1.1%), Ecuador (-3.1%) and Panama (-14.7%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Brazil (+7.6 p.p.), Chile (+4.9 p.p.), Colombia (+2.9 p.p.) and Peru (+1.6 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Mexico and Panama saw its share reduced by -3.2% and -7.1% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
