In value terms, non-refractory clay roofing tiles exports soared to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, recorded a abrupt shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when exports increased by 17%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In 2022, Mexico (X tons), Brazil (X tons) and Colombia (X tons) was the main exporter of non-refractory clay roofing tiles in Latin America and the Caribbean, generating 83% of total export. It was distantly followed by Nicaragua (X tons), creating an 8.5% share of total exports. El Salvador (X tons) and Bolivia (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

El Salvador, with a CAGR of +1.8%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced a decline in the exports figures.
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Latin America and the Caribbean stood at $X per ton in 2022, picking up by 5.5% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed a mild contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when the export price increased by 5.8%. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Colombia ($X per ton), while Nicaragua ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by El Salvador (+3.3%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

Imports in Latin America and the Caribbean
In 2022, the amount of non-refractory clay roofing tiles imported in Latin America and the Caribbean shrank markedly to X tons, falling by -18.2% compared with the previous year. Overall, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 51%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons, and then contracted remarkably in the following year.
In value terms, non-refractory clay roofing tiles imports expanded notably to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated a buoyant expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +80.4% against 2020 indices. Costa Rica (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total imports with an 11% share, followed by Curacao (9.1%), Panama (7.7%) and Argentina (7.5%). The following importers - Aruba (X tons), Cayman Islands (X tons), Uruguay (X tons), Bahamas (X tons), Paraguay (X tons), Honduras (X tons), El Salvador (X tons) and Guatemala (X tons) - together made up 27% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to non-refractory clay roofing tiles imports into the Dominican Republic stood at +6.2%. At the same time, Panama (+80.1%), Argentina (+51.3%), Honduras (+20.3%), Cayman Islands (+8.6%), El Salvador (+5.5%) and Curacao (+4.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Panama emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Latin America and the Caribbean, with a CAGR of +80.1% from 2012-2022. Bahamas experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. While the share of the Dominican Republic (+12 p.p.), Panama (+7.7 p.p.), Argentina (+7.4 p.p.), Curacao (+2.9 p.p.), Honduras (+2.4 p.p.) and Cayman Islands (+2.1 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2022, the share of Aruba (-4.1 p.p.), Costa Rica (-4.6 p.p.), Paraguay (-7.4 p.p.) and Uruguay (-10.5 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the Dominican Republic ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported non-refractory clay roofing tiles in Latin America and the Caribbean, comprising 37% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Panama ($X), with a 12% share of total imports. It was followed by Argentina, with a 7.9% share.
In the Dominican Republic, non-refractory clay roofing tiles imports increased at an average annual rate of +11.1% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Panama (+87.2% per year) and Argentina (+75.1% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the import price in Latin America and the Caribbean amounted to $X per ton, growing by 33% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +4.6%. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Panama ($X per ton), while Costa Rica ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Argentina (+15.8%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
