In value terms, Peru ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported coal or rock cutters and tunnelling machinery in Latin America and the Caribbean, comprising 59% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Chile ($X), with a 7.9% share of total imports. It was followed by Argentina, with a 6.2% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Peru stood at +15.3%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Chile (+2.7% per year) and Argentina (-12.1% per year).
