In value terms, the largest electric hair dryer supplying countries in Latin America and the Caribbean were Brazil ($X), Panama ($X) and Mexico ($X), with a combined 83% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Chile, Guatemala, Peru and Argentina, which together accounted for a further 14%.
Peru, with a CAGR of +18.4%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.7%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the export price increased by 29%. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs in 2021 and is likely to see steady growth in years to come.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Mexico ($X per unit), while Peru ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Mexico (+10.3%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In 2021, Brazil (X units) was the largest importer of electric hair dryers, mixing up 42% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Chile ($X), with a 17% share of total imports. It was followed by Mexico, with a 13% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Brazil amounted to +4.8%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Chile (+8.5% per year) and Mexico (+1.1% per year).
