From 2020 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main exporting countries, was attained by Colombia (with a CAGR of +12.2%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the exports figures.
In value terms, the largest ceramic electrical insulator supplying countries in Latin America and the Caribbean were Brazil ($X), Colombia ($X) and Mexico ($X), together comprising 99% of total exports.
In terms of the main exporting countries, Colombia, with a CAGR of +8.5%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the export price in Latin America and the Caribbean amounted to $X per unit, growing by 58% against the previous year. Export price indicated a resilient expansion from 2020 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +18.7% over the last two years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Brazil ($X per unit), while Colombia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2020 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Brazil (+46.7%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.
Ceramic Electrical Insulator Imports
Imports in Latin America and the Caribbean
For the third consecutive year, LatAmerica and the Caribbean recorded growth in purchases abroad of electrical insulators of ceramics, which increased by 181% to X units in 2022. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a significant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 672%. The volume of import peaked in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in years to come.
In value terms, ceramic electrical insulator imports dropped slightly to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a pronounced curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 13% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
Mexico (X units) and Brazil (X units) represented roughly 69% of total imports in 2022. Argentina (X units) ranks next in terms of the total imports with an 8.3% share, followed by Chile (8.1%). The following importers - Bolivia (X units), Colombia (X units) and Paraguay (X units) - each accounted for a 6% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by Bolivia (with a CAGR of +32.0%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Mexico ($X), Brazil ($X) and Argentina ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, with a combined 68% share of total imports. Chile, Colombia, Bolivia and Paraguay lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 17%.
Bolivia, with a CAGR of +3.5%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the imports figures.
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the import price in Latin America and the Caribbean amounted to $X per unit, declining by -65.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a sharp setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 500% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Colombia ($X per unit), while Bolivia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Colombia (-10.7%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
