In value terms, Brazil ($X) remains the largest extruded solid rubber rod supplier in Latin America and the Caribbean, comprising 49% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Colombia ($X), with a 20% share of total exports. It was followed by Mexico, with a 20% share.

In Brazil, extruded solid rubber rod exports contracted by an average annual rate of -6.3% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Colombia (+4.3% per year) and Mexico (+12.0% per year).

Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a pronounced reduction. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, extruded solid rubber rod imports amounted to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, recorded a perceptible contraction. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

At the same time, Bolivia (+9.1%), the Dominican Republic (+4.6%), Chile (+3.3%), Ecuador (+2.8%) and Brazil (+2.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Bolivia emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Latin America and the Caribbean, with a CAGR of +9.1% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Argentina (-2.9%), Panama (-3.2%) and Colombia (-4.7%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Brazil (+6.3 p.p.), Chile (+3.5 p.p.), Bolivia (+2.7 p.p.), Ecuador (+1.9 p.p.) and the Dominican Republic (+1.5 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2022, the share of Mexico (-17.5 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Mexico ($X), Brazil ($X) and Chile ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, with a combined 67% share of total imports. Argentina, Ecuador, Panama, Colombia, the Dominican Republic and Bolivia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 21%.

Among the main importing countries, the Dominican Republic, with a CAGR of +10.8%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
