Brazil (X tons) held a 30% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Chile (5.5%) and the Dominican Republic (5%). The following exporters - Argentina (X tons) and Guatemala (X tons) - each amounted to a 3.7% share of total exports.

Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a slight curtailment. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Chile ($X per ton), while Mexico ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Dominican Republic (+10.6%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in Latin America and the Caribbean
In 2021, imports of filter paper and paperboard cut to shape in Latin America and the Caribbean expanded markedly to X tons, with an increase of 12% on the year before. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.8% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 18% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked in 2021 and is likely to see gradual growth in years to come.
