In 2022, Chile (X units) was the main importer of fire extinguishers, committing 37% of total imports. Uruguay (X units), Cuba (X units), Costa Rica (X units), Guatemala (X units), El Salvador (X units) and the Dominican Republic (X units) took a minor share of total imports.

At the same time, Brazil (+46.4%), Cuba (+19.4%), Colombia (+9.6%), El Salvador (+8.7%), Guatemala (+6.5%), Uruguay (+5.1%) and Costa Rica (+5.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. In value terms, Mexico ($X), Chile ($X) and Peru ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, together comprising 58% of total imports. Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Uruguay, El Salvador and Guatemala lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 30%.

In terms of the main importing countries, the Dominican Republic, with a CAGR of +6.3%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the import price in Latin America and the Caribbean amounted to $X per unit, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous year. In general, the import price showed a mild downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 8.1%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2015 to 2022, the import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
