The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, production decreased by -30.9% against 2016 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 40%. As a result, production attained the peak level of $X. From 2017 to 2021, production growth failed to regain momentum.

Exports in Latin America and the Caribbean
In 2021, approx. X units of fire-fighting vehicles were exported in Latin America and the Caribbean; jumping by 160% against the previous year. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate resilient growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 400%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
In value terms, fire-fighting vehicle exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, exports continue to indicate a buoyant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 337%. The level of export peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
Mexico represented the largest exporter of fire-fighting vehicles in Latin America and the Caribbean, with the volume of exports finishing at X units, which was approx. 51% of total exports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Brazil (X units) and Bahamas (X units), together committing a 46% share of total exports. Honduras (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Mexico (with a CAGR of +18.8%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Mexico ($X) remains the largest fire-fighting vehicle supplier in Latin America and the Caribbean, comprising 59% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Brazil ($X), with a 22% share of total exports. It was followed by Bahamas, with a 14% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Mexico amounted to +17.1%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Brazil (+16.2% per year) and Bahamas (+85.1% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in Latin America and the Caribbean amounted to $X per unit, shrinking by -29.3% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 57%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2015 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Honduras ($X per unit), while Bahamas ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Honduras (+41.8%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.
Fire-Fighting Vehicle Imports
Imports in Latin America and the Caribbean
In 2021, the amount of fire-fighting vehicles imported in Latin America and the Caribbean contracted markedly to X units, which is down by -15.1% on the year before. Overall, imports saw a slight reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 51%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units. From 2018 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, fire-fighting vehicle imports fell notably to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 53%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
Chile was the main importer of fire-fighting vehicles in Latin America and the Caribbean, with the volume of imports resulting at X units, which was near 34% of total imports in 2021. Ecuador (X units) took an 8.6% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Paraguay (7.1%), Colombia (6.9%), Uruguay (5.5%) and Cayman Islands (5.2%). The following importers - Nicaragua (X units), Honduras (X units), Bahamas (X units), Costa Rica (X units), Guyana (X units), Argentina (X units) and Mexico (X units) - together made up 18% of total imports.
Imports into Chile increased at an average annual rate of +15.1% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Uruguay (+43.6%), Cayman Islands (+17.2%), Colombia (+9.2%), Bahamas (+9.0%), Paraguay (+7.3%), Nicaragua (+4.3%) and Guyana (+2.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uruguay emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Latin America and the Caribbean, with a CAGR of +43.6% from 2012-2021. Ecuador and Honduras experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Costa Rica (-5.0%), Mexico (-14.3%) and Argentina (-27.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Chile (+26 p.p.), Uruguay (+5.3 p.p.), Cayman Islands (+4.1 p.p.), Colombia (+4.1 p.p.), Paraguay (+3.8 p.p.), Bahamas (+1.6 p.p.) and Nicaragua (+1.5 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Mexico (-4.9 p.p.) and Argentina (-27.6 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Chile ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported fire-fighting vehicles in Latin America and the Caribbean, comprising 33% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Ecuador ($X), with an 11% share of total imports. It was followed by Colombia, with a 10% share.
In Chile, fire-fighting vehicle imports expanded at an average annual rate of +14.2% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Ecuador (+0.1% per year) and Colombia (+12.6% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Latin America and the Caribbean stood at $X per unit in 2021, falling by -3.1% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the import price increased by 21% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2015 to 2021, the import prices remained at a lower figure.
