Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when imports increased by 110%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2016 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

Chile dominates imports structure, resulting at X tons, which was near 67% of total imports in 2022. Panama (X tons), Venezuela (X tons), the Dominican Republic (X tons) and Suriname (X tons) held a little share of total imports.

Chile was also the fastest-growing in terms of the first-aid boxes and kits imports, with a CAGR of +26.9% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, the Dominican Republic (+16.0%), Panama (+16.0%) and Venezuela (+15.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. By contrast, Suriname (-10.7%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. The second position in the ranking was taken by Panama ($X), with a 4% share of total imports. It was followed by the Dominican Republic, with a 3.4% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Chile amounted to +23.7%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Panama (+16.2% per year) and the Dominican Republic (+14.4% per year).

In 2022, the import price in Latin America and the Caribbean amounted to $X per ton, approximately mirroring the previous year. In general, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when the import price increased by 20% against the previous year.
