Export price indicated a moderate expansion from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.5% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, flywheels and pulleys export price decreased by -29.9% against 2016 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 an increase of 42%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2017 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Imports in Latin America and the Caribbean

In 2021, purchases abroad of flywheels and pulleys was finally on the rise to reach X tons after three years of decline. Overall, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when imports increased by 17% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, flywheels and pulleys imports surged to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.6% over the period from 2012 to 2021; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Mexico was the main importing country with an import of about X tons, which finished at 60% of total imports.
