From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to footwear exports from Brazil stood at X%. At the same time, Mexico (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Mexico emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Latin America and the Caribbean, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. By contrast, the Dominican Republic (X%) and Panama (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a mild decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X pairs in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, footwear imports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. In general, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Chile (X pairs), distantly followed by Mexico (X pairs), Peru (X pairs), Colombia (X pairs) and Argentina (X pairs) were the key importers of footwear, together constituting X% of total imports. Brazil (X pairs), Guatemala (X pairs), Venezuela (X pairs), Uruguay (X pairs), Panama (X pairs), Ecuador (X pairs), the Dominican Republic (X pairs) and Costa Rica (X pairs) held a minor share of total imports.
