Fresh pork cut exports surged to X tons in 2022, picking up by 76% against 2021 figures. In general, exports, however, showed a pronounced decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 366% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, fresh pork cut exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, recorded a pronounced curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 287%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2022, Mexico (X tons) represented the largest exporter of fresh or chilled hams, shoulders and cuts of pig meat, creating 57% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Argentina (X tons), comprising a 35% share of total exports. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2015 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Brazil ($X per ton), while Mexico ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
