Furnace Burner Market Size in Latin America and the Caribbean

In 2021, the Latin American furnace burner market increased by 11% to $X for the first time since 2017, thus ending a three-year declining trend. In general, consumption, however, continues to indicate a noticeable decrease. The level of consumption peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, consumption stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, furnace burner production reduced slightly to $X in 2021 estimated in export price. Overall, production saw a mild decrease. The level of production peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, production stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports in Latin America and the Caribbean

In 2021, after four years of growth, there was significant decline in shipments abroad of furnace burners, mechanical stokers, mechanical grates and mechanical ash dischargers, when their volume decreased by -22.5% to X tons. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 29%. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, furnace burner exports shrank markedly to $X in 2021. Total exports indicated a notable expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.6% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 91%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2020, and then contracted sharply in the following year.

Mexico (X tons) and Brazil (X tons) prevails in exports structure, together creating 94% of total exports. Argentina (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the key exporting countries, was attained by Mexico (with a CAGR of +21.1%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.

In value terms, Mexico ($X) remains the largest furnace burner supplier in Latin America and the Caribbean, comprising 66% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Brazil ($X), with a 25% share of total exports.

In Mexico, furnace burner exports expanded at an average annual rate of +16.0% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Brazil (+2.6% per year) and Argentina (-14.7% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The export price in Latin America and the Caribbean stood at $X per ton in 2021, which is down by -23.5% against the previous year. Export price indicated a noticeable increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.0% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 49%. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2020, and then plummeted in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Argentina ($X per ton), while Brazil ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Argentina (+6.3%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Imports in Latin America and the Caribbean

In 2021, approx. X tons of furnace burners, mechanical stokers, mechanical grates and mechanical ash dischargers were imported in Latin America and the Caribbean; rising by 32% against 2020. Overall, imports, however, showed a perceptible downturn. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, furnace burner imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a noticeable descent. The level of import peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country

Brazil (X tons) and Mexico (X tons) represented roughly 53% of total imports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Ecuador (X tons), Colombia (X tons), Peru (X tons), Argentina (X tons) and Chile (X tons), together making up a 36% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the leading importing countries, was attained by Ecuador (with a CAGR of +16.0%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Brazil ($X), Mexico ($X) and Chile ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, together comprising 69% of total imports.

Chile, with a CAGR of +4.0%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The import price in Latin America and the Caribbean stood at $X per ton in 2021, reducing by -4.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price saw a mild reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when the import price increased by 17%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2018 to 2021, the import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Chile ($X per ton), while Ecuador ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
