Brazil experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of exports of honing or lapping machines for working metal. At the same time, Chile (+8.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Chile emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Latin America and the Caribbean, with a CAGR of +8.0% from 2012-2021. Bahamas and Grenada experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Mexico (-7.4%), Colombia (-8.3%) and Argentina (-24.8%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. In Brazil, metal honing machine exports increased at an average annual rate of +3.6% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Mexico (+5.2% per year) and Chile (-9.3% per year).

In 2021, the export price in Latin America and the Caribbean amounted to $X per unit, reducing by -33.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed modest growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the export price increased by 19,242%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2020 to 2021, the export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Mexico ($X per unit), while Chile ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Mexico (+13.6%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in Latin America and the Caribbean
Metal honing machine imports dropped significantly to X units in 2021, reducing by -26.9% on 2020 figures. In general, imports recorded a pronounced shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 560%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2016 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, metal honing machine imports reduced remarkably to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports recorded a abrupt descent. Imports into Bolivia increased at an average annual rate of +28.4% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Saint Maarten (Dutch part) (+200.0%), Nicaragua (+31.0%), Chile (+29.5%), Costa Rica (+22.9%), Guatemala (+15.6%), Peru (+11.5%) and Venezuela (+4.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Saint Maarten (Dutch part) emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Latin America and the Caribbean, with a CAGR of +200.0% from 2012-2021. Colombia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Brazil (-5.1%), Paraguay (-20.6%), Argentina (-23.5%) and Mexico (-26.8%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Bolivia (+25 p.p.), Nicaragua (+10 p.p.), Costa Rica (+6 p.p.), Venezuela (+5.5 p.p.), Guatemala (+4.9 p.p.), Saint Maarten (Dutch part) (+3.4 p.p.) and Chile (+3.1 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Paraguay (-9.4 p.p.), Argentina (-18.9 p.p.) and Mexico (-25.3 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
