In value terms, the largest household dishwashing machine supplying countries in Latin America and the Caribbean were Panama ($X), Chile ($X) and Ecuador ($X), with a combined 69% share of total exports. Brazil, Colombia, the Dominican Republic and Turks and Caicos Islands lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 21%.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Chile ($X per unit), while the Dominican Republic ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Brazil ($X), Chile ($X) and Argentina ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, together comprising 56% of total imports. Mexico, Colombia, Uruguay, the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Paraguay, Peru and Panama lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 34%.

Among the main importing countries, Panama, with a CAGR of +24.0%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

In 2022, the import price in Latin America and the Caribbean amounted to $X per unit, surging by 7.9% against the previous year. In general, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when the import price increased by 11%. Over the period under review, import prices attained the peak figure at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Dominican Republic ($X per unit), while Brazil ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
