Overall, exports saw a strong increase. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, fruit-preparation industrial machinery exports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a abrupt descent. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when exports increased by 33% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Brazil prevails in exports structure, reaching X units, which was near 96% of total exports in 2021. Peru (X units) took a little share of total exports.

Brazil was also the fastest-growing in terms of the industrial machinery for the preparation of fruits, nuts or vegetables exports, with a CAGR of +12.7% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Peru (+12.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. In general, imports posted buoyant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of 127%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, fruit-preparation industrial machinery imports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, saw a slight shrinkage. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, Aruba (X units), El Salvador (X units), Chile (X units), Mexico (X units), Bolivia (X units) and Belize (X units) was the key importer of industrial machinery for the preparation of fruits, nuts or vegetables in Latin America and the Caribbean, making up 87% of total import. Paraguay (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the key importing countries, was attained by Belize (with a CAGR of +48.7%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
