Lift And Hoist Market Size in Latin America and the Caribbean
In 2022, the Latin American lift and hoist market was finally on the rise to reach $X for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Overall, consumption, however, recorded a abrupt shrinkage. As a result, consumption attained the peak level of $X. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of the market remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Lift And Hoist Production in Latin America and the Caribbean
In value terms, lift and hoist production dropped slightly to $X in 2022 estimated in export price. In general, production, however, continues to indicate a pronounced decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 with an increase of 10% against the previous year. The level of production peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, production stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Lift And Hoist Exports
Exports in Latin America and the Caribbean
In 2022, overseas shipments of lifts and hoists decreased by -6.6% to X units, falling for the fourth year in a row after two years of growth. In general, exports saw a pronounced decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when exports increased by 86% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X units. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, lift and hoist exports expanded rapidly to $X in 2022. Overall, exports saw a perceptible contraction. The level of export peaked at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
Brazil prevails in exports structure, recording X units, which was approx. 89% of total exports in 2022. Mexico (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
Brazil was also the fastest-growing in terms of the lifts and hoists exports, with a CAGR of +6.5% from 2012 to 2022. Mexico (-23.5%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Brazil (+52 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2022, the share of Mexico (-44.5 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.
In value terms, Brazil ($X) remains the largest lift and hoist supplier in Latin America and the Caribbean, comprising 87% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Mexico ($X), with a 7% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Brazil totaled +9.2%.
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Latin America and the Caribbean stood at $X per unit in 2022, increasing by 22% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a mild shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when the export price increased by 53%. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the peak figure at $X per unit in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Mexico ($X per unit), while Brazil amounted to $X per unit.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Brazil (+2.6%).
Lift And Hoist Imports
Imports in Latin America and the Caribbean
In 2022, imports of lifts and hoists in Latin America and the Caribbean rose markedly to X units, picking up by 7% on the year before. Overall, imports, however, showed a slight shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 22% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, lift and hoist imports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a mild slump. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
The purchases of the six major importers of lifts and hoists, namely Mexico, Chile, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Brazil and Peru, represented more than two-thirds of total import. Guyana (X units), Guatemala (X units), Ecuador (X units), Bolivia (X units) and Argentina (X units) held a relatively small share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by Guyana (with a CAGR of +14.4%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Mexico ($X), Chile ($X) and Colombia ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, with a combined 48% share of total imports. The Dominican Republic, Peru, Guatemala, Brazil, Argentina, Bolivia, Ecuador and Guyana lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 37%.
In terms of the main importing countries, Guyana, with a CAGR of +18.3%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the import price in Latin America and the Caribbean amounted to $X per unit, picking up by 9.3% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, import prices reached the peak figure at $X per unit in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Argentina ($X per unit), while Guyana ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Guyana (+3.4%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
