The Latin American loudspeaker market reduced to $X in 2022, which is down by -7.2% against the previous year. Overall, consumption continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, consumption attained the peak level of $X, and then fell in the following year.
Loudspeaker Production in Latin America and the Caribbean
In value terms, loudspeaker production fell significantly to $X in 2022 estimated in export price. In general, production, however, posted a moderate increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when the production volume increased by 246%. The level of production peaked at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, production remained at a lower figure.
Loudspeaker Exports
Exports in Latin America and the Caribbean
For the fourth year in a row, LatAmerica and the Caribbean recorded growth in overseas shipments of loudspeakers, which increased by 21% to X units in 2022. In general, exports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 171%. The volume of export peaked at X units in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, loudspeaker exports soared to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a noticeable contraction. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
Mexico dominates exports structure, accounting for X units, which was near 97% of total exports in 2022. Brazil (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
Mexico experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of exports of loudspeakers. Brazil (-3.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Mexico (+1.5 p.p.) increased significantly, the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Mexico ($X) remains the largest loudspeaker supplier in Latin America and the Caribbean, comprising 93% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Brazil ($X), with a 2.5% share of total exports.
In Mexico, loudspeaker exports plunged by an average annual rate of -2.1% over the period from 2012-2022.
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Latin America and the Caribbean stood at $X per unit in 2022, with an increase of 2.7% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, showed a pronounced shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 an increase of 266% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the maximum at $X per unit in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Mexico ($X per unit), while Brazil totaled $X per unit.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Brazil (+6.9%).
Loudspeaker Imports
Imports in Latin America and the Caribbean
After three years of growth, overseas purchases of loudspeakers decreased by -4.5% to X units in 2022. Over the period under review, imports showed a noticeable descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 64%. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, loudspeaker imports rose sharply to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, saw a slight increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 35%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
Mexico (X units) and Brazil (X units) were the major importers of loudspeakers in 2022, finishing at near 46% and 32% of total imports, respectively. It was distantly followed by Argentina (X units), constituting a 13% share of total imports. Colombia (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the leading importing countries, was attained by Colombia (with a CAGR of +3.9%), while imports for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the imports figures.
In value terms, Mexico ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported loudspeakers in Latin America and the Caribbean, comprising 44% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Brazil ($X), with a 16% share of total imports. It was followed by Argentina, with a 7.9% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Mexico was relatively modest. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Brazil (+1.4% per year) and Argentina (+3.8% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the import price in Latin America and the Caribbean amounted to $X per unit, picking up by 16% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price enjoyed a pronounced increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when the import price increased by 65%. Over the period under review, import prices attained the maximum at $X per unit in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Colombia ($X per unit), while Brazil ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Brazil (+8.0%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
