The biggest shipments were from Mexico (X units), together finishing at 99% of total export.
Mexico was also the fastest-growing in terms of the video monitors exports, with a CAGR of +11.6% from 2012 to 2021. While the share of Mexico (+7 p.p.) increased significantly, the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Mexico ($X) also remains the largest video monitor supplier in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Imports in Latin America and the Caribbean
In 2021, overseas purchases of video monitors increased by 33% to X units, rising for the fifth consecutive year after four years of decline. Over the period under review, imports showed a slight increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 34% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked in 2021 and is likely to see steady growth in years to come.
In value terms, video monitor imports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a perceptible reduction. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
Mexico dominates imports structure, reaching X units, which was approx. 59% of total imports in 2021. Chile (X units) held the second position in the ranking, followed by Brazil (X units) and Guatemala (X units). All these countries together took near 23% share of total imports. The following importers - Peru (X units), Argentina (X units) and Colombia (X units) - together made up 9.8% of total imports.
Imports into Mexico increased at an average annual rate of +1.2% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Argentina (+12.3%), Chile (+9.8%) and Guatemala (+8.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Argentina emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Latin America and the Caribbean, with a CAGR of +12.3% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Brazil (-2.7%), Peru (-3.2%) and Colombia (-3.6%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Chile, Guatemala and Argentina increased by +4.6, +2.8 and +2 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Mexico ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported video monitors in Latin America and the Caribbean, comprising 52% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Brazil ($X), with a 9.8% share of total imports. It was followed by Chile, with a 9.5% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Mexico stood at -3.3%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Brazil (-3.4% per year) and Chile (+1.2% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in Latin America and the Caribbean amounted to $X per unit, with a decrease of -11.9% against the previous year. In general, the import price continues to indicate a noticeable decline. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when the import price increased by 26%. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Colombia ($X per unit), while Guatemala ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Peru (-0.4%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
