Moulds For Metal Market Size in Latin America and the Caribbean
In 2022, the Latin American moulds for metal market increased by 3.9% to $X, rising for the second consecutive year after two years of decline. Over the period under review, consumption, however, continues to indicate a prominent increase. Over the period under review, the market hit record highs at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, consumption remained at a lower figure.
Moulds For Metal Production in Latin America and the Caribbean
In value terms, moulds for metal production fell to $X in 2022 estimated in export price. Over the period under review, production, however, saw a prominent increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 85% against the previous year. The level of production peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, production remained at a lower figure.
Moulds For Metal Exports
Exports in Latin America and the Caribbean
In 2022, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in shipments abroad of moulds for metals, when their volume increased by 8% to X tons. In general, exports, however, saw a noticeable downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when exports increased by 16% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, moulds for metal exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, showed a mild decline. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
Brazil was the largest exporting country with an export of about X tons, which finished at 63% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Mexico (X tons), making up a 26% share of total exports. Argentina (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
Exports from Brazil increased at an average annual rate of +1.2% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Argentina (+19.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Argentina emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Latin America and the Caribbean, with a CAGR of +19.5% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Mexico (-9.5%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Brazil and Argentina increased by +24 and +1.9 percentage points, respectively.
In value terms, Mexico ($X) remains the largest moulds for metal supplier in Latin America and the Caribbean, comprising 58% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Brazil ($X), with a 28% share of total exports.
In Mexico, moulds for metal exports decreased by an average annual rate of -4.0% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Brazil (+4.8% per year) and Argentina (+11.9% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Latin America and the Caribbean stood at $X per ton in 2022, rising by 19% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.9%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 an increase of 24% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the peak figure at $X per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Mexico ($X per ton), while Brazil ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Mexico (+6.1%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.
Moulds For Metal Imports
Imports in Latin America and the Caribbean
In 2022, moulds for metal imports in Latin America and the Caribbean reduced modestly to X tons, approximately mirroring the previous year. Over the period under review, imports saw a mild setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 12% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, moulds for metal imports rose markedly to $X in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.3% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by 17%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
Mexico prevails in imports structure, resulting at X tons, which was near 77% of total imports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Brazil (X tons), committing a 7.1% share of total imports. The following importers - Argentina (X tons), Barbados (X tons) and Guatemala (X tons) - together made up 7.7% of total imports.
Imports into Mexico decreased at an average annual rate of -1.6% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Barbados (+62.8%), Guatemala (+11.1%) and Argentina (+9.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Barbados emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Latin America and the Caribbean, with a CAGR of +62.8% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Brazil (-7.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Barbados, Argentina and Guatemala increased by +2.6, +1.8 and +1.6 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Mexico ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported moulds for metals in Latin America and the Caribbean, comprising 88% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Brazil ($X), with a 5.4% share of total imports. It was followed by Argentina, with a 1.3% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Mexico amounted to +2.7%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Brazil (-7.8% per year) and Argentina (+1.7% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the import price in Latin America and the Caribbean amounted to $X per ton, growing by 7.1% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +3.1%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when the import price increased by 7.9%. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Mexico ($X per ton), while Barbados ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
