Non-alcoholic beverage, not containing milk exports soared to X litres in 2022, surging by 25% on the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, exports showed strong growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when exports increased by 58% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, non-alcoholic beverage, not containing milk exports expanded rapidly to $X in 2022. In general, exports showed resilient growth. Mexico was also the fastest-growing in terms of the non-alcoholic beverages, not containing milk exports, with a CAGR of +23.2% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Guatemala (+14.2%), Trinidad and Tobago (+7.3%), Costa Rica (+3.7%) and El Salvador (+2.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. By contrast, Argentina (-5.3%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Mexico (+24 p.p.) and El Salvador (+18 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Trinidad and Tobago, Costa Rica and Argentina saw its share reduced by -2%, -5.6% and -16.3% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Mexico ($X) remains the largest non-alcoholic beverage, not containing milk supplier in Latin America and the Caribbean, comprising 43% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Guatemala ($X), with a 16% share of total exports. It was followed by El Salvador, with a 15% share.
In Mexico, non-alcoholic beverage, not containing milk exports increased at an average annual rate of +21.0% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Guatemala (+13.6% per year) and El Salvador (-0.6% per year).

In 2022, the export price in Latin America and the Caribbean amounted to $X per litre, waning by -10.8% against the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate a mild descent. The volume of import peaked in 2022 and is likely to see gradual growth in years to come.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 32% against the previous year. The level of import peaked in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in the near future.

In 2022, Brazil (X litres), Guatemala (X litres), Chile (X litres), El Salvador (X litres), Honduras (X litres), Mexico (X litres), the Dominican Republic (X litres), Panama (X litres), Colombia (X litres), Nicaragua (X litres), Costa Rica (X litres) and Guyana (X litres) was the main importer of non-alcoholic beverages, not containing milk in Latin America and the Caribbean, generating 83% of total import.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the key importing countries, was attained by Panama (with a CAGR of +44.9%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest non-alcoholic beverage, not containing milk importing markets in Latin America and the Caribbean were Brazil ($X), Guatemala ($X) and the Dominican Republic ($X), together comprising 38% of total imports. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per litre. From 2014 to 2022, the import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Dominican Republic ($X per litre), while Honduras ($X per litre) was amongst the lowest.
