The Latin American non-domestic dryer market skyrocketed to $X in 2021, surging by 19% against the previous year. In general, consumption, however, continues to indicate a perceptible decline. Over the period under review, the market reached the maximum level at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, consumption stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Non-Domestic Dryer Production in Latin America and the Caribbean

In value terms, non-domestic dryer production amounted to $X in 2021 estimated in export price. Overall, production continues to indicate a noticeable setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when the production volume increased by 16%. Over the period under review, production attained the peak level at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, production stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports in Latin America and the Caribbean

In 2021, shipments abroad of non-domestic dryers decreased by -2.5% to X units, falling for the third year in a row after two years of growth. Over the period under review, exports faced a abrupt decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of 22%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, non-domestic dryer exports contracted to $X in 2021. In general, exports recorded a deep contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when exports increased by 92%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

Brazil was the key exporting country with an export of about X units, which reached 50% of total exports. Argentina (X units) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a 17% share, followed by Mexico (11%) and Colombia (7.7%). The following exporters - Peru (X units), Guatemala (X units) and Chile (X units) - together made up 11% of total exports.

Exports from Brazil decreased at an average annual rate of -12.5% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Colombia (+19.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Colombia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Latin America and the Caribbean, with a CAGR of +19.2% from 2012-2021. Guatemala experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Mexico (-2.6%), Peru (-11.5%), Argentina (-14.4%) and Chile (-16.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Colombia, Mexico and Guatemala increased by +7.1, +5.9 and +2.3 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Brazil ($X), Argentina ($X) and Mexico ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021, together accounting for 82% of total exports. Chile, Colombia, Guatemala and Peru lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 14%.

Colombia, with a CAGR of +17.3%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

The export price in Latin America and the Caribbean stood at $X per unit in 2021, dropping by -4.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a noticeable descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when the export price increased by 70%. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the maximum at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Chile ($X per unit), while Peru ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Argentina (+5.6%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Non-Domestic Dryer Imports

Imports in Latin America and the Caribbean

Non-domestic dryer imports skyrocketed to X units in 2021, growing by 25% on the previous year's figure. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a mild slump. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, non-domestic dryer imports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, saw a pronounced curtailment. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

Brazil represented the major importer of non-domestic dryers in Latin America and the Caribbean, with the volume of imports resulting at X units, which was near 41% of total imports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Mexico (X units), Colombia (X units), Peru (X units) and Argentina (X units), together comprising a 39% share of total imports. The following importers - Ecuador (X units) and Chile (X units) - each accounted for a 7.1% share of total imports.

Imports into Brazil increased at an average annual rate of +2.9% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Colombia (+14.7%) and Ecuador (+3.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Colombia emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Latin America and the Caribbean, with a CAGR of +14.7% from 2012-2021. Peru experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Chile (-4.0%), Mexico (-6.0%) and Argentina (-10.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Brazil and Colombia increased by +14 and +6 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Mexico ($X), Brazil ($X) and Colombia ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, together comprising 69% of total imports.

Colombia, with a CAGR of +15.8%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The import price in Latin America and the Caribbean stood at $X per unit in 2021, dropping by -2.8% against the previous year. In general, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when the import price increased by 17% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2019 to 2021, the import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Chile ($X per unit), while Brazil ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
