Non-Household Fan Market Size in Latin America and the Caribbean
After two years of growth, the Latin American non-household fan market decreased by -25.9% to $X in 2022. The total consumption indicated tangible growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, consumption increased by +18.1% against 2019 indices. As a result, consumption reached the peak level of $X, and then dropped rapidly in the following year.
Non-Household Fan Production in Latin America and the Caribbean
In value terms, non-household fan production fell to $X in 2022 estimated in export price. Over the period under review, production, however, recorded strong growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the production volume increased by 147%. Over the period under review, production attained the maximum level at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, production failed to regain momentum.
Non-Household Fan Exports
Exports in Latin America and the Caribbean
In 2022, overseas shipments of non-household ventilation fans decreased by -48.5% to X units for the first time since 2016, thus ending a five-year rising trend. In general, exports showed a slight curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 225% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X units, and then shrank markedly in the following year.
In value terms, non-household fan exports declined sharply to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 19%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2021, and then declined rapidly in the following year.
Exports by Country
Mexico dominates exports structure, resulting at X units, which was near 94% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Brazil (X units), comprising a 5.1% share of total exports.
Mexico experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of exports of non-household ventilation fans. Brazil (-15.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Mexico (+18 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2022, the share of Brazil (-17 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.
In value terms, Mexico ($X) remains the largest non-household fan supplier in Latin America and the Caribbean, comprising 90% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Brazil ($X), with a 7.2% share of total exports.
In Mexico, non-household fan exports remained relatively stable over the period from 2012-2022.
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Latin America and the Caribbean stood at $X per unit in 2022, with an increase of 16% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the export price increased by 504% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Brazil ($X per unit), while Mexico amounted to $X per unit.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Brazil (+7.6%).
Non-Household Fan Imports
Imports in Latin America and the Caribbean
In 2022, overseas purchases of non-household ventilation fans decreased by -42.2% to X units for the first time since 2016, thus ending a five-year rising trend. In general, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 105% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units, and then fell remarkably in the following year.
In value terms, non-household fan imports reduced sharply to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 26%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then dropped rapidly in the following year.
Imports by Country
Mexico represented the main importing country with an import of around X units, which reached 62% of total imports. Brazil (X units) took a 26% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Argentina (4.6%).
Mexico was also the fastest-growing in terms of the non-household ventilation fans imports, with a CAGR of +4.6% from 2012 to 2022. Argentina (-4.3%) and Brazil (-5.3%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Mexico (+22 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2022, the share of Argentina (-2.6 p.p.) and Brazil (-19.4 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.
In value terms, Mexico ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported non-household ventilation fans in Latin America and the Caribbean, comprising 58% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Brazil ($X), with a 15% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Mexico stood at +2.7%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Brazil (-3.2% per year) and Argentina (-5.3% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the import price in Latin America and the Caribbean amounted to $X per unit, increasing by 18% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when the import price increased by 84%. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Mexico ($X per unit), while Brazil ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Brazil (+2.2%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
