From 2015 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Peru ($X per ton), while Jamaica ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Imports in Latin America and the Caribbean
In 2021, overseas purchases of oil and water paints and varnishes increased by 24% to X tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 84%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of imports of remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, imports of oil and water paints and varnishes surged to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 36%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of imports of remained at a lower figure.
