Imports in Latin America and the Caribbean

After two years of growth, supplies from abroad of p-xylene decreased by -68.2% to X tons in 2021. Over the period under review, imports recorded a deep contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 67% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons, and then fell remarkably in the following year.

In value terms, p-xylene imports contracted rapidly to $X in 2021. In general, imports recorded a abrupt setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 14%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
