The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Panama ($X), Mexico ($X) and Brazil ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, together accounting for 52% of total exports. Guatemala, Costa Rica, Chile and Peru lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 42%.

Guatemala, with a CAGR of +26.2%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

In 2022, the export price in Latin America and the Caribbean amounted to $X per unit, increasing by 2.2% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a abrupt descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 31% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the maximum at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Chile ($X per unit), while Mexico ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Chile (+19.5%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Overall, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 51% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X units in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, photo-copying apparatus imports expanded rapidly to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, showed a abrupt shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 19% against the previous year. At the same time, Peru (+19.6%), Nicaragua (+19.1%), Argentina (+8.0%), Chile (+3.6%) and Ecuador (+2.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Peru emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Latin America and the Caribbean, with a CAGR of +19.6% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Colombia (-2.0%) and Brazil (-10.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Mexico (+31 p.p.), Peru (+7.9 p.p.), Argentina (+2.9 p.p.), Chile (+2.7 p.p.) and Nicaragua (+2.3 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Brazil saw its share reduced by -12.2% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Brazil ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported photo-copying apparatus in Latin America and the Caribbean, comprising 46% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Mexico ($X), with a 13% share of total imports. It was followed by Peru, with an 8.8% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Brazil stood at -2.4%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Mexico (-2.5% per year) and Peru (+5.3% per year).
