Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The shipments of the three major exporters of polyethylene glycols and polyethers in primary forms, namely Colombia, Mexico and Brazil, represented more than two-thirds of total export. The following exporters - Panama (X tons) and Argentina (X tons) - each accounted for a 4.6% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Colombia (with a CAGR of +14.0%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Total imports indicated prominent growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.8% over the last nine years.
