Total exports indicated a pronounced increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +126.7% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 100%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

In value terms, polymethyl methacrylate exports contracted to $X in 2022. Total exports indicated notable growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +39.8% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when exports increased by 35% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2021, and then contracted in the following year.

In 2022, Brazil (X tons) was the largest exporter of polymethyl methacrylate in primary forms, constituting 56% of total exports. Mexico (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by Colombia (X tons). All these countries together held approx. 40% share of total exports. The Dominican Republic (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

The Dominican Republic, with a CAGR of +32.4%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price in Latin America and the Caribbean stood at $X per ton in 2022, declining by -8.1% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 56% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the peak figure at $X per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2022, polymethyl methacrylate imports in Latin America and the Caribbean contracted to X tons, shrinking by -3.3% compared with the year before. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.1% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 30%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2021, and then dropped slightly in the following year.

In value terms, polymethyl methacrylate imports rose significantly to $X in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +2.8% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years.
