In general, exports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 89%. The volume of export peaked in 2021 and is likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, prepared rubber accelerators exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, showed a noticeable setback. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

In 2021, Brazil (X tons) was the major exporter of prepared rubber accelerators, achieving 47% of total exports. Colombia (X tons) held a 14% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Ecuador (14%) and Mexico (13%). The following exporters - Chile (X tons), Peru (X tons) and Panama (X tons) - together made up 9.2% of total exports.

Exports from Brazil increased at an average annual rate of +3.9% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Ecuador (+79.8%), Colombia (+61.5%), Panama (+18.9%) and Peru (+13.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Ecuador emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Latin America and the Caribbean, with a CAGR of +79.8% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Chile (-9.7%) and Mexico (-13.3%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Colombia (+14 p.p.), Ecuador (+14 p.p.), Brazil (+11 p.p.), Panama (+2 p.p.) and Peru (+1.9 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Chile and Mexico saw its share reduced by -6.4% and -35.6% from 2012 to 2021, respectively.

In value terms, Brazil ($X) remains the largest prepared rubber accelerators supplier in Latin America and the Caribbean, comprising 48% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Mexico ($X), with a 16% share of total exports. It was followed by Ecuador, with a 13% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Brazil stood at -2.9%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Mexico (-12.2% per year) and Ecuador (+69.6% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The export price in Latin America and the Caribbean stood at $X per ton in 2021, rising by 33% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a perceptible slump. Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Chile ($X per ton), while Colombia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Imports in Latin America and the Caribbean

After two years of decline, overseas purchases of prepared rubber accelerators increased by 27% to X tons in 2021. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.4% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, prepared rubber accelerators imports soared to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +3.5% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. Imports by Country

The purchases of the three major importers of prepared rubber accelerators, namely Brazil, Chile and Mexico, represented more than half of total import. Costa Rica (X tons) held an 8.7% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Guatemala (7.8%), Peru (7.6%) and Argentina (5.6%). In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, import prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
