From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Suriname (with a CAGR of +60.1%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Brazil ($X) remains the largest aircraft propeller supplier in Latin America and the Caribbean, comprising 44% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Peru ($X), with an 11% share of total exports. It was followed by Jamaica, with a 9.8% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Brazil amounted to -8.4%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Peru (-2.7% per year) and Jamaica (+1.0% per year).

The export price in Latin America and the Caribbean stood at $X per ton in 2022, reducing by -45.5% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, showed pronounced growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 81% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the peak figure at $X per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Brazil ($X per ton), while Guatemala ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In general, imports recorded a abrupt setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 45% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, aircraft propeller imports plummeted to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports showed a abrupt downturn. Imports into Colombia increased at an average annual rate of +4.6% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Paraguay (+59.5%), Ecuador (+20.8%), Argentina (+8.6%), Trinidad and Tobago (+7.0%), Guyana (+4.2%) and Guatemala (+3.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Paraguay emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Latin America and the Caribbean, with a CAGR of +59.5% from 2012-2022. Chile experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Peru (-11.2%), Venezuela (-12.5%), Bahamas (-14.6%), Brazil (-17.3%) and Mexico (-17.5%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Colombia (+13 p.p.), Paraguay (+6.2 p.p.), Argentina (+5.7 p.p.), Guatemala (+4.8 p.p.), Ecuador (+3.9 p.p.), Guyana (+3.7 p.p.), Trinidad and Tobago (+3 p.p.) and Chile (+2.5 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Venezuela, Peru, Bahamas, Mexico and Brazil saw its share reduced by -2.7%, -5.8%, -5.9%, -10.9% and -22.3% from 2012 to 2022, respectively.

In value terms, the largest aircraft propeller importing markets in Latin America and the Caribbean were Colombia ($X), Brazil ($X) and Argentina ($X), together comprising 56% of total imports. Peru, Mexico, Trinidad and Tobago, Bahamas, Guatemala, Chile, Ecuador, Paraguay, Venezuela and Guyana lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 35%.

In terms of the main importing countries, Paraguay, with a CAGR of +48.0%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

In 2022, the import price in Latin America and the Caribbean amounted to $X per ton, which is down by -12.4% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.3%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 20%. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2021, and then declined in the following year.
