Calendars and trade advertising material exports declined modestly to X tons in 2022, waning by -2.7% against 2021 figures. In general, exports recorded a pronounced decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when exports increased by 18%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, calendars and trade advertising material exports expanded rapidly to $X in 2022. Overall, exports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when exports increased by 12%. The level of export peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
Mexico dominates exports structure, recording X tons, which was approx. 71% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Peru (X tons) and Guatemala (X tons), together generating a 16% share of total exports. Brazil (X tons), El Salvador (X tons) and the Dominican Republic (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
Exports from Mexico decreased at an average annual rate of -3.5% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Brazil (+10.0%) and the Dominican Republic (+1.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Brazil emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Latin America and the Caribbean, with a CAGR of +10.0% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Guatemala (-2.4%), El Salvador (-8.0%) and Peru (-10.5%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Mexico (+8.5 p.p.), Brazil (+3.2 p.p.) and Guatemala (+1.5 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2022, the share of Peru (-8.2 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Mexico ($X) remains the largest calendars and trade advertising material supplier in Latin America and the Caribbean, comprising 64% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Brazil ($X), with a 7.4% share of total exports. It was followed by Peru, with a 6.9% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Mexico amounted to +1.8%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Brazil (+7.9% per year) and Peru (-10.5% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the export price in Latin America and the Caribbean amounted to $X per ton, rising by 11% against the previous year. Export price indicated a measured expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 an increase of 34% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was El Salvador ($X per ton), while Guatemala ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by El Salvador (+11.2%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in Latin America and the Caribbean
In 2022, calendars and trade advertising material imports in Latin America and the Caribbean declined slightly to X tons, dropping by -2.8% compared with 2021. In general, imports recorded a pronounced downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 34% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, calendars and trade advertising material imports expanded sharply to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports saw a perceptible contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 14% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
Mexico prevails in imports structure, resulting at X tons, which was approx. 50% of total imports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Guatemala (X tons), Colombia (X tons) and Chile (X tons), together committing a 21% share of total imports. Costa Rica (X tons), El Salvador (X tons), Brazil (X tons), the Dominican Republic (X tons), Honduras (X tons), Nicaragua (X tons) and Bolivia (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
Imports into Mexico decreased at an average annual rate of -4.5% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, the Dominican Republic (+4.8%) and Chile (+3.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, the Dominican Republic emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Latin America and the Caribbean, with a CAGR of +4.8% from 2012-2022. Costa Rica experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Nicaragua (-1.7%), El Salvador (-4.3%), Guatemala (-5.1%), Bolivia (-6.0%), Colombia (-6.3%), Honduras (-7.0%) and Brazil (-8.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Chile (+3.3 p.p.), the Dominican Republic (+1.9 p.p.) and Mexico (+1.6 p.p.) increased significantly, the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Mexico ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported calendars and trade advertising material in Latin America and the Caribbean, comprising 43% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Brazil ($X), with a 9.2% share of total imports. It was followed by Guatemala, with a 7.8% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Mexico amounted to -1.2%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Brazil (-3.7% per year) and Guatemala (-2.3% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the import price in Latin America and the Caribbean amounted to $X per ton, with an increase of 10% against the previous year. Import price indicated a moderate increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, calendars and trade advertising material import price decreased by -23.7% against 2016 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 an increase of 73%. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
