Brazil (+8.9 p.p.), Chile (+4.1 p.p.), Guatemala (+2.5 p.p.) and Ecuador (+1.9 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Peru, Colombia and Mexico saw its share reduced by -1.7%, -5.5% and -7.8% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Mexico ($X), Brazil ($X) and Chile ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, together comprising 67% of total imports.

Brazil, with a CAGR of +4.1%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the import price in Latin America and the Caribbean amounted to $X per unit, falling by -12.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price saw a abrupt contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 an increase of 8.9%.
