The export price in Latin America and the Caribbean stood at $X per unit in 2021, picking up by 23% against the previous year. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the export price increased by 56%. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the peak figure in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.

As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Mexico.

Imports in Latin America and the Caribbean

In 2021, supplies from abroad of pumps for dispensing liquids decreased by -1.4% to X units, falling for the second consecutive year after three years of growth. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when imports increased by 17%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units; afterwards, it flattened through to 2021.

In value terms, liquid dispensing pump imports surged to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 30% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, Mexico (X units), distantly followed by Brazil (X units), Panama (X units), Guatemala (X units) and Honduras (X units) were the major importers of pumps for dispensing liquids, together committing 65% of total imports. The Dominican Republic (X units), Colombia (X units), Costa Rica (X units), Chile (X units), Argentina (X units), Peru (X units), Jamaica (X units) and Bahamas (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

These countries were followed by Colombia, Bahamas, Chile, Peru, the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Panama, Costa Rica, Honduras and Jamaica, which together accounted for a further 36%.

Colombia, with a CAGR of +14.1%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The import price in Latin America and the Caribbean stood at $X per unit in 2021, picking up by 22% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.6%. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Argentina ($X per unit), while Honduras ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Brazil (+6.9%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
